Where to Find the Stranger Things Filming Locations
With the release of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things airing soon, I felt it was appropriate to help pinpoint the filming locations of this beloved series. Even though the series takes place in Indiana, nearly all of the filming for the fictional town of Hawkins was done in the US state of Georgia (not to be confused with the country). Most of the scenes, like the town center, were filmed in Jackson, GA. And the scenes of the Byers house in California were actually filmed in Albuquerque, NM. For this list, we will begin with season 1 and work our way towards season 5. Many of these locations are featured several times over the course of the seasons. However, for the sake of the length of this list, each location will only be mentioned once. And not every single filming location will be mentioned; only the most important ones will make the list. It should also be worth noting that some of the locations (not including set pieces), have been demolished. So, don't blame me if you travel to a few of these places and they aren't there anymore. And, if it wasn't obvious enough, beware of spoilers ahead.
Disclaimer: This list was made for entertainment purposes only. If you actually do travel to these locations, do not bother whoever lives at the homes on this list. Some of the other places on this list may be private property. Do not attempt to trespass on these properties without permission.
With that out of the way, let's begin.
Season 1
We begin in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, where nothing special really happens until November 6, 1983, when Will Byers goes missing. From there, things escalate.
Benny’s Burgers

Kicking off the list is the restaurant where owner Benny Hammond served Eleven after she escaped the laboratory. This was filmed at a real restaurant called Tiffany’s Kitchen, which is located at 7413 Lee Rd, Lithia Springs, GA.
Quarry

Perhaps the most infamous location of the first season (aside from Hawkins Lab, obviously) is where (spoiler) Will's fake body was found, and where Eleven and Troy have that standoff where she breaks Troy's arm. Anyway, this real-life location is at the Westside Reservoir Park in Atlanta, GA. More specifically, its GPS coordinates are 33°46'48.1"N 84°26'05.4"W. And another fact: the same filming location was used in The Walking Dead.
Hawkins Police Station

The exterior shots of the Hawkins police station were filmed at 6755 Church St Douglasville, GA.
Hawkins Middle School

The middle school that the four main protagonists of the series attend was filmed at a real school called Patrick Henry High School, located at 109 S Lee St, Stockbridge, GA. The school has since closed and has been demolished as of March of 2025.
Wheeler House

In the first scene of the series (aside from the scientist getting eaten by presumably the Demogorgon in the elevator at Hawkins Lab), the sprinklers are on outside the Wheeler residence. This home, which was used for the exterior shots, can be found at 2530 Piney Wood Ln, Atlanta, GA. In September of 2025, the home was listed for $350,000.
Byers House (Seasons 1-3)

The home which would have its wall painted with the alphabet and get broken into by the Demogorgon is situated at 149 Coastline Rd, Fayetteville, GA. Unlike the other homes on this list, the Byers' home can be rented as an Airbnb.
Henderson House

Dustin's home can be found at 2886 Piney Wood Drive, East Point, GA in real life.
Sinclair House

The real-life location of this home is actually just two doors away from the Wheeler house's real-life location. The home which doubled as the Sinclair home is situated at 2550 Piney Wood Ln, Atlanta, GA.
Hawkins Lab

The secret laboratory was not-so-secretly filmed at Briarcliff Building A at Emory University, which is located at 1256 Briarcliff Rd, Atlanta, GA. More specifically, geographic coordinates 33°47'19.2"N 84°20'32.9"W.
The Street Where Eleven Flips the Van

In, arguably, the most iconic sequence in the whole series, Eleven uses her telekinetic powers to create a barrier which a Hawkins Lab van crashes into and subsequently flips over. The street that this sequence was filmed on is Sarahs Ln, Tucker, GA.
Barb’s House

In the emotional scene where Barb's parents treat Steve and Nancy to a dinner of Kentucky Fried Chicken, her parents are still hopeful she is alive (even though it's known to the viewers that Barb is dead). The exterior shots of this home were filmed at 2980 Piney Wood Dr, East Point, GA.
The Store Where Eleven Steals the Eggos

In one of the scenes where Eleven is in the real world on her own, she stumbles across a grocery store, where she is asked if she needs help by the store manager. After seeing boxes of Eggos in the frozen foods section, she grabs several boxes and walks out of the store without paying for them. This store was, in real life, once known as Bradley's Big Guy, but has since become a Piggly Wiggly. This store's address is 506 Center St, Palmetto, GA.
Season 2
Released only a year after season 1 and set in the fall of 1984, season 2 was a hit with the fans, and it's easy to see why. We are introduced to Max Mayfield and her abusive stepbrother Billy, though we see later in the season where Billy's mannerisms come from (spoiler, it's his even more abusive father). In addition, Joyce has a new (albeit fateful) boyfriend Bob Newby. New locations come with the new season, as we will see.
The Arcade

Though closed now, the location of Hawkins Arcade is, in real life, located at 6501 Church Street, Douglasville, GA.
Terry Ives’ House

The home of Eleven's incapacitated mother is at 422 Lees Lake Rd, Fayetteville, GA.
The Pumpkin Fields

The location which served as the pumpkin fields is actually Sleepy Hollow Farm at 628 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Powder Springs, GA. Though the farm serves many purposes, such as pumpkin fields in the fall, a Christmas tree farm in the winter, and has farm animals, among other activities. But, as the disclaimer states, this location is private property, so don't trespass.
Oscar’s Gas n Go

The gas station convenience store which Kali and her gang rob is actually called Ravi’s Food Mart in real life. This bait shop is located at 7705 Covington Hwy, Lithonia, GA.
Billy and Max’s House

The Hargrove residence's real-life location can be found at 5280 Moore St, Stone Mountain, GA.
Season 3
Two years after the release of the second season came season 3 on July 4, 2019. In the summer of 1985, the main characters have grown by a significant margin, and their childhoods are coming to a close. With adolescence comes hard times in relationships as a new mall opens up in Hawkins.
Hopper's Cabin

The rural structure that serves as Hopper's home in the third season is located at 628 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Powder Springs, GA
Weathertop

This is where Dustin sets up his radio tower. There is no exact address for this location, so I'll give you the coordinates for it instead: 33°31'35.0"N 84°45'41.2"W
Brimborn Steel Works

The warehouse which doubled as the Brimborn Steel Works is located at 2903 S Martin St, East Point, GA is actually known as Atlanta Utility Works, and is up for lease, last I heard.
Starcourt Mall

Perhaps the most important location of season 3 is the mall where the Soviets have built a base underneath: Starcourt Mall. The real-life location for the mall is the Gwinnett Place Mall, which was located at 2100 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth, GA. Emphasis on "was," because the mall was demolished and redevelopment is underway.
Hawkins Post

At the real-life location of 6980 Main St, Lithonia, GA, you won't find much aside from the local farmer's market, which runs on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm.
Hawkins Community Pool

The scenes where all the moms are thirsting over Billy were filmed at South Bend Pool, which is situated at 2000 Lakewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA.
Season 4
Season 4 was the first two seasons to be released in different parts on different days. The first seven episodes were released on May 27, 2022, while the last two were released on July 1 of the same year. Set in March of 1986, this season sees scenes set in the Soviet Union (unlike the previous seasons). It also sees places where main characters live outside of Hawkins. At the end of the previous season, Hopper is taken prisoner by the Soviets, and Joyce is trying to help him return. Eleven has also lost her powers, and a string of mysterious murders are turning Hawkins upside down (no pun intended, considering the Upside Down is a thing in this series). With the season synopsis done, let's look at where the penultimate season was filmed.
The Byers' House (Season 4-present)

Even though this home is supposed to be located in California in the series, the home can be found at 13212 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM
Rink-O-Mania

The real-life location has a strikingly similar name: Skate-O-Mania, which can be found situated at 400 Paisano St NE, Albuquerque, NM.
Pennhurst Mental Hospital

No real mental hospital was around to fit the bill, so Berry College stepped in. This location can be found at 2277 Martha Berry Hwy, Mt Berry, GA.
Yuri's Fish n Fly

And now for something special: filming locations outside the United States. Since Russia isn't on friendly terms with the West, Lithuanian settings fit the bill. Even though this scene takes place in Nome, Alaska, it was filmed in Lithuania. More specifically, at Kyviškės Airport, in Kyviškės, Lithuania
Kamchatka Facility

The Lukiškės former prison in the center of Vilnius was the filming location of the Kamchatka Facility, where Hopper was imprisoned and later escaped. The actual location is located at Lukiškių skg. 6, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Season 5
The fifth and final season will, as of this article's writing, be released in three parts. The first four episodes will be released on November 26, 2025. The next three will be released on Christmas Day. The series finale will air on New Year's Eve. When the new season airs completely, the filming locations will be added to this list.
Cinespace Studios Atlanta

OK, I probably shouldn't have included this one because you likely won't be granted access to see it, but it made the list because I didn't want to leave you all wondering where most of the interior scenes were filmed. This soundstage lot can be found at 175 Lakewood Way SW, Atlanta, GA.
